Privacy Policy

Numbers & Signs (“Numbers & Signs,” “we,” “us”) is a daily numerology and astrology practice for reflection. This policy explains what information the app handles and the choices you have. It is written to be read — in plain language, because that is the whole point of the app.

01Information stored on your device

The heart of Numbers & Signs runs entirely on your device. The following is stored locally, in the app’s own storage, and is never transmitted to us — it stays with you:

• Your full name and birth date, which Numbers & Signs reduces to your core numbers.
• The people you add to your orbit — their names, birth dates and your relationship to them.
• Your Trail — journal entries, mood marks, tags and reflections.
• Your settings and preferences — theme, notification timing, motion preferences.

The numerology and astrology engines are offline: your birth chart, your Sun and Moon signs, your Personal Day, Month and Year, the daily horoscope, and the daily readings are all computed on your device. None of the above is sent anywhere. The single exception is audio — audio readings and listening to a day’s reading — and even then, your full name, raw birth date, journal, orbit and mood stay put. Only a minimized slice leaves, exactly as set out in section 05.

If you delete the app, this on-device information is removed with it. You can also clear it at any time using Erase & reset under Privacy & data in the app.

02Account & sign-in

The free, local practice needs no account. You can read your chart, follow your day and explore the Orbit teaser without ever signing in. An account becomes required only when you subscribe to NAS Plus or generate an audio reading — so that your readings are tied to you, replayable, and the AI features can be kept secure and fairly rate-limited. To sign in, Numbers & Signs offers Sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time email link. When you use one of these:

• Authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider, Supabase, acting as a data processor on our behalf.
• We receive only what is needed to authenticate you and maintain a session — typically an email address or a provider-issued identifier, and a session token. Sign in with Apple may relay a private, app-specific address rather than your real email.
• We do not receive your Apple, Google or email account password.

If you never subscribe and never generate an audio reading, no account is created and none of this applies — the free, on-device experience is yours without one.

03Subscriptions & payments

NAS Plus is sold as an in-app subscription through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment — we never see or store your card or payment details. To unlock and restore your subscription, we use RevenueCat as our subscription manager; it receives a pseudonymous app-user identifier and your purchase receipt so it can tell the app whether your subscription is active. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

04Notifications

If you allow notifications, Numbers & Signs schedules a daily reminder — at most once a day — to nudge you toward the day’s reading. These are scheduled locally on your device. You can turn them off any time in the app or in your system settings.

05Audio readings & AI

A NAS Plus audio reading is a short, spoken reflection on your numbers or your signs, written and voiced for you. To make one, Numbers & Signs sends a deliberately minimized payload from your device to our backend (Supabase edge functions). That payload contains only:

• Your first name — your display name only, never your full legal name.
• Your reduced numbers — the headline figures such as “Life Path 11” — or, for a Signs reading, your Sun and Moon signs and today’s Moon. These are worked out on your device; your raw birth date is not sent.
• A few curated theme words and the intent you chose for the reading.

Just as importantly, here is what is never sent: your full legal name, your raw date of birth, your journal or Trail, the people in your Orbit, and your mood marks. Those stay on your device.

You can also have a day’s reading read aloud. When you tap Listen, the text of that day’s reading — which includes your first name — is sent to our backend and on to ElevenLabs to voice it. Anthropic is not involved, and nothing else is sent.

From that minimized payload, our backend uses Anthropic (Claude) to write the reading’s script and ElevenLabs to synthesize the spoken voice. The finished audio and its transcript are stored privately, scoped to your account, so you can replay them. We send these providers only the minimized data needed to produce your reading; they process it under their data-processing terms solely to generate it. We do not sell your data and we do not authorize its use for advertising or marketing profiling.

06What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
• We do not show advertising or use advertising or cross-app tracking identifiers.
• We do not build profiles of you for marketing.
• We do not share your journal or your Orbit with anyone. Apart from account sign-in and purchase data (sections 02–03), the only personal content that leaves your device is the minimized audio payload described in section 05 — your first name, your reduced numbers or your Sun and Moon signs, a few theme words and your chosen intent, or the text of a day’s reading you ask to hear — shared with Anthropic and ElevenLabs purely to generate your audio.
• We do not require a social feed, follower graph, or public profile.

07Children

Numbers & Signs is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

08Retention & deletion

On-device data persists until you erase it in the app or delete the app. Your audio readings and their transcripts are stored on our server — privately, scoped to your account — until they are deleted. Erase & reset clears your on-device data and signs you out; it does not delete anything stored on our server. You can delete your account at any time in the app with Delete account (Privacy & data, while signed in), or by emailing info@numbersandsigns.com; account deletion removes all server-side data, including your authentication record and stored audio and transcripts. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — manage that in your Apple ID settings. We will action requests within a reasonable period, subject to records we must keep for legal or tax reasons (for example, subscription history held by Apple).

09Security

Because your sensitive content stays on your device, it is protected by your device’s own security. For the limited account, subscription and audio-reading data described above, we and our processors — including Supabase, Anthropic and ElevenLabs — use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, and your stored audio and transcripts are scoped privately to your account. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under U.S. state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Most of your data never reaches us, so the fastest way to exercise most of these rights is directly in the app — including Erase & reset, which clears your on-device data, and Delete account, which deletes your account and the audio readings stored with it. 11International users

Numbers & Signs is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the U.S., any limited account, subscription or audio-reading data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
